Did you know that Oct 16 - 22 is Waste Reduction Week in Canada? This amazing event is all about spreading awareness about the importance of reducing waste and taking steps towards building a more circular economy.
To reduce waste, it's important to limit the amount of plastic we use. Making small changes in our daily lives can have a big impact. Here are some ways to use less plastic:
- Say no to plastic straws and cutlery
- Don’t forget your re-useable water bottle and coffee cups. Try keeping one in your car or bag so it's ready when you need it.
- Switch to reusable snack bags or containers instead of disposable ones.
- Avoid plastic wrap when possible. Use beeswax wraps or reusable silicone covers instead.
- Reuse packaging whenever possible. Goodwash Soap aluminum refill bottles make great travel containers for personal care products!
- Look for refill options for products such as cleaning supplies and personal care items.
At Goodwash Soap, we are passionate about doing our part to reduce waste wherever we can. That's why we've made the decision to use aluminum packaging for our soap refills - it's easier to recycle than plastic and can be recycled again and again without losing quality.
In honour of Waste Reduction Week, we've set ourselves an ambitious target of sourcing 100% of our aluminum refill bottles from post-consumer recycled aluminum by 2025. We know it's a big goal, but we're committed to making it happen through hard work and dedication. Thanks for supporting us on this journey!
Every action counts, and by working together, we can achieve a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations. Let's make every week Waste Reduction Week and commit to reducing our waste all year round!
